Yes, it’s called ARTBOOKING for a reason

As many of you know, Close to My Heart has just released a brand, new Cricut cartridge:  Artbooking!!! It’s nothing short of fantastic!!!  Oh the things you will be creating with this cartridge – we don’t even know where to begin!  So, we decided to show you some of the creations WE have made using this amazing, versatile cartridge  It’s not just for scrapbookers you know.  There are 700 images with a ton of coordinating stamps.  If you don’t already have a Consultant that you are currently working with, please contact me or one of the Consultants in our hop with any questions you have!  In this hop, you will see projects featuring this versatile cartridge from many talented crafty ladies!  Enjoy our blog hop!  If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy’s blog – Love 2 Create.   If you came from Jennifer~ 4 Hearts Scrapbooking then you are in the right place!

This one is for all the cardmakers out there!  As odd as it may seem, I have used this cartridge for cards more than anything.  It is so easy (with the use of Cricut Craft Room) to use one of the “photo mats” or “pages” and adjust them to the size of your card.  Here I made this super quick and easy Christmas card.  It’s beautiful, yet it only took me minutes to make!

Love This Card

Love This card by Wendy Kessler

Supplies used: Love This stamp set, Cardstock (Kraft, Juniper, Ruby, Colonial White), Juniper ink, Saddle ink, Bronze Glitter Glitz, and Bronze Shimmer Trim.  Pinspiration from this card.

I made this card featuring the Love This stamp set for a swap.  I had a really hard time at first and regretted my choice of stamp set.  Although I loved the set, I realized I just wasn’t any good at coloring and needed to come up with another option.  This was it!  It’s a nice flat card that will be great for mailing and was easy to make.

Big Bash Card

Supplies used are all Close to My Heart: The Party is On stamp set (hostess special), Art Philosophy cartridge, Artbooking cartridge, Cardstock (White Daisy, Pacifica), Green Glitter Paper, Ink (Pear and Ruby), and Sparkles Clear Assortment.

This is a great example of how you can make cards with the new Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  I used the photo mat on page 65 of the handbook to create a frame for this card.  It was very easy with the help of Cricut Craft Room (CCR).  I simply resized the mat to my card size (in this case 5.5 x 4.25).  I used layers for easy sizing of the added stars and to make sure the glitter stars fit well with the photo mat.

Tip: When I cut the frame in Pacifica it marked parts of the paper where the blade turns and the white core of the cardstock was showing through.  I flipped this over and used the backside (which looks nicer) on my cards.  Another option when cutting a more delicate image or using darker paper is to “flip” the image in CCR.  This will cut the image upside down on your mat and you can flip it over to the “clean” side when you use it on your project.
