Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month we are stamping on colored cardstock. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want. Then continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.  If you are coming from Michelle Loncar’s Blog, you are on the right track!

I was not fan of the Shortbread color when it came out. However I have already used it on a couple projects and have really loved how it turned out. For instance, I didn’t want to use white cardstock for the critters and the shortbread color turned out to be a great alternative. There are images from a couple different stamp sets on this card. The word “hello” is from the Autumn is Calling stamp set. The animals are from Thoughtful Critters Stamp + Thin Cuts, and for a sentiment on the inside of the card I used the Slimline Sentiment Stamp Set.

The leaves in the Autumn Loose Sequins seemed to blend into the background so I added color to them using the metallic marker. In addition, I attached embellishments to the background. This way you can see some even when most have settled to the bottom. The shaker has three sections which also keeps the internal pieces more visible.

Supplies used are all Close to My Heart: Circle Windows Slimline Thin Cuts, Copper Ore Paper, Autumn Loose Sequins, Slimline Shaker Window Foam + Acetate, Gold Loose Sequins, Espresso Cardstock, Shortbread Cardstock, Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad, Intense Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad, Tan Blend TriBlend Marker, Tan Shades TriBlend Marker, Brown Grey Blend TriBlend Marker, Pale Pink Blend TriBlend Marker, Gold Brown Shades TriBlend Marker, Earth Brown Blend TriBlend Marker, Muted Brown Blend TriBlend Marker, Gold Brown Blend TriBlend Marker, White Gel Pen, Autumn is Calling stamp set, Thoughtful Critters Stamp + Thin Cuts, Slimline Sentiment Stamp Set, Burnished Copper Spectrum Noir Metallic Marker,

The leaves from the Autumn Loose Sequins are great to embellish the inside of the card because they are flat.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Darlys Recker’s Blog form more artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation. Happy hopping!

I love using the Copper Ore as the top layer. It really accents your cute little animals.

Adorable & I love that you use shortbread as the base colour for your critters – it is perfect & something I will try out. And that copper ore paper looks amazing with the Autumn Loose Sequins. Great card.
