Welcome to this month’s CTMH Technique Blog Hop. Get ready for the glitter and glam this month!! If you have already started the hop, you should be coming from Michelle Loncar.
Supplies used are all Close to My Heart: Cardstock (Lagoon, Slate, Whisper, White Daisy), Teal Shimmer Trim, Cricut Artbooking cartridge, Old World Alphabet, Black Ink, and Black & Grey Epoxy Bubbles.
I knew exactly which pictures I wanted to use for this hop and the layout that I was going to do. When I went to work on it, I was out of Silver Glitter Paper. So here is what I think may be a better version but it was definitely more work to get there. I was originally going to cut the overlays out of the Silver Glitter Paper. I knew that Lagoon would be perfect for these photos and it was the color of choice. Next, I didn’t have any Teal Glitter Paper so I will tell you how I made the Teal Shimmer Trim work as a replacement. I really think this is a sign that I need to place another order!
First, I cut the out all the elements that I wanted to be glittery. This was so I knew about where to place the Shimmer Trim without wasting too much. I placed it row after row on White Daisy Cardstock until I had the area that would be cut covered. I reloaded this new covered paper the same way as my sample into the Cricut. Using the Shimmer Trim on Cardstock provided a nice thick finished product but be sure that you multi-cut. For these specific cuts I set my blade at 6, high pressure, medium speed, and cut twice. To do this double cut, you can use the Mulit-cut option (go into settings to set it to 2, 3, or 4) or once it is finished cutting DO NOT unload but instead hit “Load Mat” and it will go back to the starting point, “Repeat Last” and it will cut again.
This is the Wintertime Layout from page 76 of Artbooking.
