Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month we are highlighting all things that sparkle and shine! This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.  If you are coming from Amy Ulen’s Blog, you are on the right track!

This card is going to be given to my daughter’s dance buddy before their first competition this year. Dance and sparkle go hand in hand so it was the perfect subject for this blog hop. The watercolor wash in the background was created with the Mint Shimmer Brush and the “splatters” were made by tapping the Black Shimmer Brush over top of the paper. I really want to add something to the word ‘sparkle’ but I think it might be too much so I’m going to leave it as is.

Supply List:  You are Here Cricut Collection, Celebrate with a Bang stamp set, Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad, Mint Shimmer Brush, Black Shimmer Brush, Sugarplum Glitter Gems, and White Daisy cards & envelopes.

Here is a close up at a different angle where you can really see the sparkle and shine of the shimmer brush in the wash background and look at those two black splatters on the right – they look like gems or sparkles but they are simply splatters!

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Katy Taylor‘s Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!
