This month’s challenge at Scrap Our Stash is “Spring Fling” (interpreted any way you like).  I chose a Spring theme along with an actual spring.  Close to My Heart came out with these Adhesive Springs and this is my first try at using them.  I decorated this milk carton for my daughter for Easter.  The adhesive spring was a fun addition so the bunny is bouncy.  I plan to use more of them for butterflies, etc.

Well, I’m struggling with my mojo today so I wasn’t very creative when it came to using chipboard.  The only piece I used was the piece for the title.  I have to say that I do love how these dimensional element (chipboard) pieces coordinate with our Art Philosophy cartridge.  I just cut the shape I need (in the size indicated on the dimensional element packaging) and it fits perfectly.  This makes it super easy to add paper to the top of the chipboard.

The Family Love stamp set is a new one for me and you will be seeing more of it.  It is great for those family pages and has some nice decor images too like the one in the corner of my page.  I first inked my stamp in Olive, then I used a sponge dauber to add Chocolate ink to the center.  It was a simple way to add multiple colors to the stamped image.

Today’s stamp set of choice is D1407 Piece of Cake.  I got a the basic layout idea from this card on Pinterest and this is what I came up with:

Supplies used: CTMH Piece of Cake stamp set, CTMH Spot-On Backgrounds stamp set (retired), papers from my scraps, Copic markers for coloring, CTMH Black and Pacifica inks, ribbon from my stash, Zig markers for doodling, CTMH Stardust Glitter Glitz, and Kaiser rhinestones.

I used the Spot On Backgrounds stamp set and Glitter Glitz to create the blue background paper so this is technically an all-cardstock card!

Supplies used: SEI Glitzmas paper, CTMH cardstock, CTMH Playful Flourishes stamp set, Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge by CTMH, CTMH Black ink, KI Memories Flourish Borders, Kaiser Rhinestones, CTMH Color-Ready Hodge Podge Alphabet Stickers, Martha Stewart Carrara Marble Glitter, and Recollections Glitter Shapes.

These sparkly pictures needed a page with lots of sparkle.  I think I added that.  I ordered the SEI paper online and for some reason only got one sheet and when I went back they were sold out.  It must have looked different on my computer screen because I love it in person and was wondering why I didn’t order 2 sheets.  I stamped the Pacifica blue cardstock with stamps from Playful Flourishes (one of my all-time favorite sets).  I used the new CTMH Ruler for lining up the rhinestones for an embellishment border.  I pictured glittery white letters for my title and really thought I’d find some in my stash but no such luck.  So I had to create my own.  I used a Zig Glue Pen to apply adhesive to the alphabet stickers, then covered with glitter and let dry.

Layout Challenge: #53 of 210

The challenge this month at Scrap Our Stash is to stitch on your layout.  Be sure to check it out and enter your own project for the month.  I love the look of stitching and there are so many ways to achieve it.  You can, of course, use your sewing machine.  (This is actually the only sewing I have ever done – on paper!)  Or you can poke holes with your paper piercer and connect them with a marker, use a marker to make “dashes” that resemble stitching, or what I did on my layout – stamping.  The CTMH Simple Stitches stamp set is one of my favorites.  It is faster than actually sewing and because the stamps are acrylic the are very easy to line up.  I created the look of stitching on the title as well as around all the blue photo mats.  It is a great look for any layout and often adds the perfect extra touch.
