Balloon Valentines by Wendy Kessler

Balloon Valentines by Wendy KesslerSupplies used are all Close to My Heart: Balloon Animals Stamp Set (February 2016 SOTM), Cardstock, Ink, Lagoon Hearts Washi Tape, and Marvy Uchida LePen Journaling Pen.

This is such a fun stamp set!  I used it to create Valentines for my preschooler.  I also made enough so that she can use them next year for Kindergarten.  It will be so nice to have these done and just go buy balloons to attach.  This design can easily be changed up with a different animal of your choosing and any number of color combinations!  I printed “Float Away With Me!” on cardstock and added at the end.  I just wrote “from” on the back and had my daughter sign her name.  It was easiest to do this first before attaching the yellow cardstock.

Enjoy the Moment Card by Wendy KesslerSupplies used are all Close to My Heart: Just Sayin’ May Stamp of the Month, White Daisy Cardstock, Inks (Sunset, Glacier, Pear, and Honey), and Boardwalk Washi Tape Pack.

I decided to challenge myself to create a complete flat card which is much better for mailing and I also stuck with neutral colors!  I penciled a grid before stamping the squares and erased the lines when I was finished.

It's the Little Things Layout by Wendy KesslerSupplies used are all Close to My Heart: Colonial White Cardstock, Dotty for You Paper Packet (retired, could easily replace with Lagoon Cardstock), It’s the Little Things Stamp Set, Inks (Pear, Glacier, Lagoon, and Pixie), Lagoon Hearts Washi Tape, and Sparkles Flourishes.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this stamp set was random stamping.  Random stamping is a great technique to use when you have a variety of different size stamps like in this set and it gives you the ability to match colors to any pictures that need to be scrapped.  When I pulled out this set of photos, I knew that it’s the little things” was also the perfect title.  The key to random stamping is imperfection – start with the largest stamp and fill in with the smaller ones, be sure to stamp off the edge of the paper, and turn your stamp like I did with the leaf.  As you can see in the picture below, I didn’t waste my time stamping the middle as I knew I would be covering that part up anyway.  I also tried doing something a little different (for me) by placing the title cluster in the center of the page when my first instinct was to put it in the lower right corner.

CTMH ShinHan Marker Blog Hop

Welcome to the Close to My Heart ShinHan Marker Blog Hop!  We will be featuring the new ShinHan Markers now offered by Close to My Heart.  These are high-quality, alcohol-based markers.  This hop is a circle so if you are starting here, continue until you make your way back.  If you have already started, you should be coming from my upline Tina Lovell.

Beautiful Day Card by Wendy Kessler

Supplies used are all CTMH unless otherwise noted: White Daisy Cards & Envelopes, Lagoon Heart Washi Tape, Capture the Day stamp set, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, ShinHan Markers (Leaf Green, Peony Purple, Cerulean Blue Light, Marigold, and Tender Pink), and StazOn Jet Black Ink.

This was a fun card to make and it turned out very colorful!  The Washi Tape was place on White Daisy Cardstock, trimmed, and then stamped with StazOn Ink.

TIP: These markers will bleed through your cardstock so make sure that you are coloring on a separate piece of paper that will be attached to your work.  If you want to color directly on your cards as I have here, then another option is to line the inside of the card.

Now hop on over and see what Paige Dolecki has created!

If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participants here.
