You Light Up My Life Layout

I just love the bright colors of this layout. The photos some we took at a flower garden in place of school pictures.

This is my layout for the October Quote Challenge at Scrap Our Stash. I used a quote from a DCWV Quote Stack. I cut it into strips to add more detail. Because it was vellum, I used brads to attach it to my background. They match the Decorative Brad in the top right corner. For the LOVE title, I used the Oxford Color-Ready Alphabet stickers. I inked them in my first color and then stamped them with the flourish pattern, creating beautiful, original letters for my layout. Near the bottom of my page you will see a stamped border. To add more detail, I outlined some of the hearts with Liquid Glass, covered with Prisma Glitter, and let dry. I just love Prisma Glitter because it works over an color and it is so sparkly!

This stamp set was perfect for a diary that I wanted to make for my preteen daughter. I used the Designer Tag layout in Wishes as my base and decorated the front of a My Creations Journal.

Sweetheart Workshop Layouts

All Girl Scrapbook Layout

This was a very different layout for me inspired by Scrap Sketch #187. I like the variety that it will add to the pages in my scrapbook.

I rearranged the pearls for this card by cutting the flourishes off one flower and adding them to the other giving me a bunch of flourishes for the right corner and the lone flower on the left.

Products used: CTMH Tickled Pink paper, CTMH cardstock (White Daisy, Crystal Blue, & Sweet Leaf), unknown grosgrain ribbon, DCWV vellum quote from the Love & Friendship stack, and Basic Grey Opaline half pearls.

Friend Card

This is my third post for the day so be sure to scroll down. The kids decided they would rather play with friends than watch a movie with Mom and Dad so that meant more play time for me! I am in love with these half pearls by Basic Grey and I was so excited today when I realized that they perfectly match my CTMH Tickled Pink paper! (which I’m trying to use up if you haven’t noticed.) The vellum quote is from a DCWV vellum quote stack.

Precious Memories

This is a layout I’ve had for awhile and it’s just now getting put in a book. Supplies used: Heidi Swapp flowers, big brad from Target Dollar Spot, all others unknown.

White Background

Now that I have discovered the beauty of patterned paper I rarely use a solid-colored background. However, the white background for this layout seemed to be perfect. I traced the circle onto my paper using a plate (any circular item will work). Then I simply added all the prima flowers with brad centers. You may want to add an additional page to the back to cover all the brads so they don’t catch on the opposite page when you put it in your scrapbook. Based on a sketch by Becky Fleck.

Mulberry Paper

Mulberry paper is a light-weight, semi-transparent type of handmade style paper. It used to be quite popular in scrapbooking and has fazed out although there’s no reason why you can’t still use it. I found this page from the past with mulberry paper and it also includes a tag (yesterday’s topic). Mulberry paper can be used as a background, as an embellishment, or (my favorite) as a frame. You can cut it for a straight edge, or you can wet it with a waterbrush or paintbrush and then tear it for a unique look.

Title Pages

I use title pages to divide up my books. I organize my pages in chronological order. The title pages serve as a marker for myself and those that look through my books. It also saves me the worry of fitting so many pages in a book. I use 3D-ring binders so the pages can be easily moved around, added, and removed. When I fill a book I just start on the next one, instead of having one book specifically for 2007 and another for 2008 and overfilling them or running out of room. Title pages can be very simple and are a fun way to use up embellishments and paper that you’ve been struggling to find a use for.
