Well, I have been looking through a lot of challenges lately and I always like a challenge, particularly sketches, to boost my mojo. I was sitting here reading blogs (instead of scrapbooking) and came across this week’ s Mojo Monday card. I’ve wanted to do one of these for quite some time so what better time than the present. I checked the time zones and figured out I had an hour and a half yet to post it. I also had a pile of scraps just waiting to be transformed into a card. With that said, here is my quick card:

Products used: Tinkerin’ paper & Stickease, ricrac, white daisy cardstock, and Little Boys stamp set (all by CTMH).

My Walt Disney World Album is Complete!!

We just made it back from Disneyland last weekend and before we left I was determined to finish my book from our last vacation to Walt Disney World in (gulp) 2005! Alas, it is finished and here they are. Be on the lookout for new layouts from our recent trip to Disneyland!

I found it was easiest and quickest for this project to use a set of coordinating papers for most of the pages. You can see how I did that below. The paper is a retired CTMH paper pack.

CTMH June SOTM Blog Hop!!

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring June’s SOTM, which is called Tender Tags, a set of 15 stamps.

This month we have 42 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month’s SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do – just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!

This is a cute and simple idea that can be used for any number of occasions – just change the colors of the decorations to suit your needs. The pink strip and the flower on the top are Stickease. I filled my tube with skittles but you could add whatever to make it your own – M&M’s or other candies, even scrapbook items for a scrapbooking friend! They can be used as party favors, teacher or other thank you’s, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthday, Christmas, weddings, the list is endless!

Technique used: I used the rock and roll stamping technique on the tag. First I inked the Tender Tag stamp with Sunflower ink, next I “rock and rolled” the outside of the stamp onto the Tulip ink pad. This adds the Tulip ink only to the edges of the stamp. I then stamped the image onto White Daisy cardstock and cut it out with my Micro-Tip Scissors. Last I added the “To:” and “From:” stamps with Tulip ink.

Products used: Animal Cookies Level 2 Paper Packet, Animal Cookies Level 2 My Stickease, Tulip ink, Sunflower ink, Tender Tags stamp set, White Daisy Ricrac, Clear Sparkles, White Daisy eyelet, White Daisy cardstock, Micro-Tip Scissors, and any empty tube of Just Blooms Paper Flowers or Designer Ribbon Rounds.

Monogram Titles

For a standout title, try using large monogram letters for your entire title. I used Basic Grey undressed chipboard monograms for these layouts. (Note: chipboard that is plain and unfinished is often called undressed, bare, or naked.) For extra letters, you can trace on chipboard and cut them out. Next, I traced the letters on cardstock, cut out, embellished, and glued to the chipboard. Be sure to embellish the letters before adhering to the chipboard. The ways to embellish these monograms are endless. You can use buttons, brads, eyelets, snaps, rivets, charms, ribbon, fiber, clips, staples, tags, diecuts, etc. You can also use techniques such as stamping, stitching, inking, distressing, doodling, etc. My favorite adhesive when using chipboard is Liquid Glass by CTMH. There is a bit of drying time involved but it will hold forever!

Altered Paint Cans

Paint cans are lots of fun to alter. They can hold a wide variety of items and are great for gifts. They can be purchased at your local hardware store or at a craft store. I purchased this can at a craft store, decorated it, and filled it with scrapbook supplies for a friend.
