Supplies used: DieCuts with a View paper, K & Company chipboard stickers, Close to My Heart cardstock (retired colors), CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and Kaisercraft rhinestones.

I used this sketch from Even More Scrapping:

Stamp Sunday #29 – Chocolate Alphabet Large & Chocolate Alphabet Small

E1010 Chocolate Alphabet Large

D1296 Chocolate Alphabet Small

Supplies used: Dream Street Papers, CTMH Chocolate Alphabet Large, CTMH Chocolate Alphabet Small, CTMH Cotton Candy Ink, Recollections Glitter Shapes, and Kaisercraft Rhinestones.

As you can see on my layout, I really like using these coordinating alphabets together!  One thing you may not notice is that I also used the “*” stamp and added it among the flowers on the background paper.  I was amazed at how well it blended in as part of the pattern!

Cute baby layout

Supplies used: Daisy Bucket Designs Paper, Prima Say It In Crystals, Kaiser Rhinestones, Kaiser Rhinestones Word, and unknown rhinestones.

Good Times Girl Scout Camp Layout

Supplies used: My Mind’s Eye paper, Me & My Big Ideas specialty stickers, Close to My Heart Sparkles, and Kaisercraft Rhinestones.

CTMH Technique Blog Hop – Masking

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 12 of us highlighting the Masking Technique as shown on page 15 in the 2011 Autumn/Winter Idea Book!  Masking is when you use a piece of scrap paper to cover an image (or part of an image) so you can stamp around the original image.  Click here to watch a video that explains and shows masking in full detail.

This blog hop is a circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.  If you are coming from Bethany’s Blog, you are on the right track!

Supplies used are all Close to My Heart unless otherwise noted: Cricut Art Philosophy Collection, Lagoon ink, Sunkiss Yellow ink, Blush ink, rubber brayerBaby Pink reinker, Create-a-Shade Pearl Paint, Ribbon Rounds – Blush Collection, White Daisy Cardstock, DCWV Alphabet Stickers, Studio18 Rhinestone Stickers, and Kaisercraft Rhinestones.  Layout is loosely based on a March 2008 Page Map sketch.

I used the Cricut to cut an image for my masking.  I used a brayer to apply ink over the mask to create my background.  Then, I misted with a spray pen filled with water, Baby Pink reinker, and Create-a-Shade Pearl Paint to add to my final background.  The accent flowers are scraps from the mask I used and they are inked with Sunkiss Yellow, Blush, and Lagoon.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue on to Judy’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!
