Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop! This month we are highlighting the Layering a Window Card Technique as shown on page 33 in the Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book! What you do is create a pattern to adhere to your card so it shows through the window of your card.

This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique. So if you are starting here, just continue until you make your way back. If you have already started, you should be coming from Lisa’s Blog. If you get lost along the way, go to my previous post for a list of all participants.

Supplies used: CTMH Daydream papers (retired), Two Busy Moms paper, Recollections Glitter Adhesive Borders, Me & My Big Ideas Pink Princess Word, and Darice Finishing Accents, and CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. Dec. 20120 Page Map.

I really dug in my stash for this layout. I was amazed at how hard it was for my to find purple! For my variation of this technique, I first cut my window card (1st row, third button over). Then I cut it at an angle to create photo corners and backed it with the purple paper. Last, I added rhinestones to the flower centers.

We would love to see what you’ve created using this month’s technique, please visit Technically Terrific where you can share your project and be entered in a chance to win great prizes.

Thanks for stopping by! Please continue onto Marianne Hancock’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique! Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

Embellish is defined as: to make beautiful, decorate. This is exactly what I have been doing with all my scrapbook organizers and tools lately. It makes my scrapbook room even more enjoyable and inspiring. These Making Memories desk organizers come in a plain white. They are nice as is but I have enjoyed making them my own. I bought one from Crop Chocolate and had trouble finding more after that. I thought I found a good deal on my additional ones and was disappointed. I learned that even though they advertise with the same picture and they are both MM, I should have bought the ones that were $40 and not $20. The first one I got is actually wood, solid, and heavy. The other ones I thought I found at a decent price are cheap cardboard/chipboard-like. They are very like-weight and will definitely not last as long. Christine wasn’t very happy with me that she had to trade with me so I could have the nice one but I made it up to her by decorating them. Now if Michael’s ever gets my set of drawers in again I will show you some other things I have done. Have a great day!

This month I am a guest designer at Scrap Our Stash. The March challenge is to combine the old with the new. That was the inspiration for this layout. I pulled the paper out of my “old” collection and I have had those letters forever and just haven’t gotten around to using them. The vellum sticker quote was also from my old stash. The felt border and bling are both new favorites. I used Bazzill Basics scalloped circle and traced it on the back of my pattern paper and cut out for my own diecut piece. I also added the rhinestones to the felt flower border. Be sure to check out the Scrap Our Stash Challenge! I’d love to see your new/old combinations!

I have done some pages lately but haven’t had a chance to take any pictures so here’s another layout from last year:

Products used: DCWV paper, CTMH flowers, Tattered Angels glitter mist, CTMH Giggle alphabet stamps, Darice rhinestone stickers, and CTMH Cherish book.

The girls had a blast at this fun contraption within the park at Sea World in California. They just bounced back and forth! The flowers were white and I sprayed them with pink glitter mist to add color and sparkle.
