CTMH Dotty For You Blog Hop

A bunch of Close to My Heart consultants have gathered together once again to bring you a blog hop featuring the papers in the brand new Dotty For You Paper Packet.  The hop makes a circle so if you are starting here, continue until you make your way back.  If you are coming from Haley Dyer’s Blog you are on the right track.

The Dotty For You paper packet includes 24 specially designed, coordinated B&T Duos sheets (2 each of 12 patterns) and an artwork idea insert to get your creative juices flowing.  Spread the word and help us celebrate National Scrapbooking Month in May with this exclusive Dotty For You paper packet promotion.  Available April 17 (9:00am MST)- May 31 (11:59pm MST), while supplies last.  Get yours today!

Here’s what I have created for you today:

Supplies used are Close to My Heart unless noted: Dotty For You Paper Packet, Colonial White Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Colonial White RicRac from the Colonial White Designer Ribbon Round Collection, Basic Buttons Assortment, Bamboo Waxy Flax, Dimensional Elements – HeartsHeavenly Blue ink, Smoothie ink, and DCWV Quote Stack.

I just love all the different colors that this paper pack has in it.  You can do many layouts and they will all look so different!  I really don’t care for the cloud paper and thought for sure it would be one that I would use the backside of but what do you know here it is showing up on my layout and it is perfect for these baby pictures!  My layout is also a copycat from the Studio J layout below.  I noticed the row of stitching and substituted it with ric rac.  I really like the mix if it with the line of ribbon.

April 2012 Technique Blog Hop – Layering a Window Card

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month we are highlighting the Layering a Window Card Technique as shown on page 33 in the Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book!  What you do is create a pattern to adhere to your card so it shows through the window of your card.

This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.  So if you are starting here, just continue until you make your way back.  If you have already started, you should be coming from Lisa’s Blog.  If you get lost along the way, go to my previous post for a list of all participants.

Supplies used: CTMH Daydream papers (retired), Two Busy Moms paper, Recollections Glitter Adhesive Borders, Me & My Big Ideas Pink Princess Word, and Darice Finishing Accents, and CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  Dec. 20120 Page Map.

I really dug in my stash for this layout.  I was amazed at how hard it was for my to find purple!  For my variation of this technique, I first cut my window card (1st row, third button over).  Then I cut it at an angle to create photo corners and backed it with the purple paper.  Last, I added rhinestones to the flower centers.

We would love to see what you’ve created using this month’s technique, please visit Technically Terrific where you can share your project and be entered in a chance to win great prizes.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Marianne Hancock’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

April 2012 CTMH Spotlight Blog Hop & List – Word Stamps

Welcome to the April 2012 Close to My Heart Spotlight Blog Hop!  This month we are spotlighting Word Stamps.

This blog hop is a circle so if you are just starting, continue until you make your way back here.  If you are coming from Luisa Morgan’s Blog, you are on the right track!

I chose the Card Chatter – Sympathy stamp set:

I made this simple card:

Supplies used: Card Chatter-Sympathy stamp set, Colonial White Cardstock, Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, Stella Paper Packet, and Timeless Charms.

I am working at using up the last little bit of scraps of some of the recent paper packs and Stella is one if them.  I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the Timeless Charms coordinated with these papers!

Thanks for stopping by!  Your next stop is Haley D.’s Blog!

Since we have such a small group this month, I’m just posting the list of participants here:

Stamp Sunday #15 – Live Your Style

D1499 Live Your Style $17.95

This is a set of 36 small stamps and offers lots of variety.  I made this card to be used for a birthday.

I used my ruler to draw the dotted lines with My Legacy Writer Black Pens.  The images are stamped with a variety of ink colors from the Summer Palette.  Choosing inks from this one group was an easy way to coordinate.  To finish it off I added Baker’s Twine by poking holes through the fold of the card with my Piercing Tool and wrapping it around the card.
