SOS June Challenge

Supplies used: Magnolia papers & overlays by My Mind’s Eye, Close to My Heart flowers, Making Memories Shimmer Alpha stickers, American Crafts Glitter Brads, and unknown journaling paper.  Sketch from My Sketch World.

The June Challenge over at Scrap Our Stash is “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”.  You can interpret this however you want, in part or full.  I knew exactly what I wanted to do for this challenge, or at least the pictures I planned to use.  The BLUE dress is OLD and BORROWED for my beautiful NEW baby.  Let me tell you, I just love it when things work out like I envision them!  I wanted a soft, elegant feel to my layout with these photos.  I found the perfect paper to match her dress and everything else just fell into place after that.  I used some NEW paper (an unopened pack anyway!) and combined that with some OLD embellishments in my stash.

Altered Coasters, Photo Frames

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Products used: Coasters, Making Memories Simply Stated Expressions rubons, American Crafts MiniMarks rubons, Kelly Panacci rubons, and Heidi Swapp rubons.

For some reason, lighting or their shiny surface, these did not photograph very well but it gives you the general idea.  I found this coaster set at Target for a Christmas gift.  After adding the pictures I just thought they looked PLAIN.  So…I made them my own by adding rubons to them.  I am pleased with them and I hope the recipient enjoys them as well.

Belle Layout

Well, it was back to scrapbooking today.  This picture was taken at Ariel’s Grotto in Disneyland last month.  We all had a great time.  It is spendy but I would recommend it. Different princesses come to each table to chat, sign autographs, and take pictures.  The food was quite good as well.  Our favorite was probably the dessert.  I enjoyed the healthy choices and fresh produce (sure beats $6 hotdogs!).  Definately get priority seating.

For this layout I used the sketch below as a guide.  The 3D stickers were added on top of other images on the paper to add more dimension.  I don’t know how to explain these Disney stickers by EK Success but you can see that they don’t photograph well due to their shine.  I found them in the clearance section today at Target!  I figured this would be a good way to use a bunch of my flowers – I love them and just can’t get enough!  Good thing I have girls!  My first choice for the centers would have been brads but this was also a way to use up some of the many eyelets that I’ve been collecting. :-)

Products used: Iced Got Flowers by Prima, eyelets from my stash, Making Memories vellum tag, pink rubon letters Lulu font by American Crafts, 3D stickers by EK Success, unknown Disney paper and adhesive felt ribbon.

Challenge: from Scrapper’s Block Challenge #7.
