Here’s another shelf I have that I recently reorganized:
Closeup of the decorated jars:

Well, I guess this is what you do when you have an overabundance of supplies…. I have wanted to do this for a long time and finally got around to decorating these cute plastic jars by Making Memories. They would also be great for decorating and adding candy for a nice little gift. The first shelf is Making Memories as well and is one of my favorite purchases from Crop Chocolate. I love the spots for photos on the drawers. It adds a personal feel. You could also use these to add a label of what’s inside the drawer. The second shelf was a great rummage sale find. I just love to have things look so pretty in my creative space. It is much more inspiring!
Kid’s Valentines ~ Cell phones & I-pods!
Posted in Misc. on 02/07/2010 09:46 pm by WendyMy kids loved these ideas from Family Fun for cell phone and I-pod Valentines. They are perfect for older kids like my 5th grader who made the cell phones. I helped come up with the dimensions for the first one and she did the rest on their own. She also added the black dots with a marker to make speakers. My 3rd grader made the I-pods and they were more work but she did a lot on her own. Then we set up an assembly line between the three of us mostly to just get them done. I would say don’t plan these for younger kids unless you are willing to do all the work yourself. My girls are almost 9 & 11 and very crafty but they were ready to be done by the end. They each made 25 valentines. We used a combination of my ATG gun and double sided tape for adhesive to ensure that they stayed stuck and they have!
Cell Phone cutting details:
phone is 2.5″ x 7″ (use a corner rounder for the corners)
inside text message is approximately 2″ x 2″
antenna is 3″ x .5″ then folded in half
I used my Cricut Storybook cartridge for the heart on the front. You could use any heart, or make an additional text message.
I found the candy buttons at Walgreens.
I-pod cutting details:
I used the template from Family Fun for the playlist and scroll wheel, added the songs she wanted and scanned/copied enough to fit on one page, then I printed on cardstock and she cut them out.
box is 3.5″ x 7″ and wrapped around the box
We taped the silver cord (we used embroidery floss) on everything first before covering. I used my Cricut to cut the first few circles of aluminum foil and then realized that it was faster and easier to just tear it in squares and just form it around the candy. I just guessed and it worked well.
