Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!  For this hop we will be featuring the letter C. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their C element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Linda Norman – Scrappy Therapy.  If you came from Shalana Glass – Scrappin with Shalana then you’re on the right track!

Canvas Display Art by Wendy Kessler

Supplies used are all Close to My Heart unless otherwise noted: 6×6 Canvas Display, Create-a-Shade Paint, Reinkers (Cotton Candy and Lagoon), Silver Shimmer Trim, Rosette Ribbon (retired), Prima Flowers Butterflies, Black Cardstock, Cricut Cartridges (Artiste and Plantin SchoolBook), and Liquid Glass.

C=CANVAS!  This project has been on my list for some time so I decided to use this blog hop as the opportunity to set a deadline for it and get it done.  My daughter wanted 3 of the 6×6 Canvas Displays decorated to hang in her room.  I had two from CTMH and two similar ones from Michaels.  I have to say that I liked the CTMH ones MUCH better.  They took the paint better and the other ones looked cheap.  The CTMH ones were off-white in color and had more of a cloth feel.  The others were white and had more of a plastic-y feel; for these I had to brush off any excess paint and try to eliminate “lines”.  With the CTMH canvas the paint was absorbed into it and had a much more even coverage.  Anyway, what all this means is “buy the CTMH ones” and I will need to buy another one to finish her set of three. 🙂  So watch for that in the coming weeks because she won’t let me put it off for long!
The Silver Shimmer Trim is hidden under the Rosette Ribbon.  Hard to see from the picture but it adds a little touch in person and these are really beautiful in person – the picture doesn’t do them justice.

This is the end of our ABC Blog Hop.  I hope you have enjoyed it!  Come back again on February 22, 2014 for our next hop.
