Stamp Sunday #27 – Rustic Alphabet

This layout is part of the Footloose Workshop on the Go Scrapbooking Kit. If you like this kit it is only available through July 31, 2012 while supplies last. I will try to post more of the kit later today. I used rock-n-roll stamping for the letters: First I inked the stamp in Creme Brulee, then I “rolled” the edges on the Sorbet ink pad. I cut the letters out and used my Edge Distresser for a fun look. You can see these details in this closeup:

There is also a number set to go along with this alphabet. I just love these for big titles.

D1384 Snow Flurries

This Snow Flurries stamp set is one that is retiring so it is only available through July 31, 2012. I stamped with Twilight and White Daisy inks. I embossed with some glittery embossing powder on the white for a pretty effect. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out because I did it over top of multiple layers and on that bottom picture but it all turned out just fine. Here’s the best closeup I could get:

CTMH Art Philosophy Blog Hop

These layouts were made by my friend Stacy. We enjoy scrapbooking together often and as you can see she loves Close to My Heart just as much as I do. I especially like how she added color to the flourishes as you can see in the above closeup. And I love that baby layout. I’m pretty sure I have some of that paper left to recreate a similar page.

Stamp Sunday #25 – Save the Date

D1386 Save the Date – English

This is a layout from an old paper stack that I had pick together years ago. I’ve finally added pictures and today I was able to complete it with journaling and embellishments. When I first see this Save the Date stamp set I think of calendars but it can also be used on layouts. I used the word “summer” to add to my border by stamping it at the top and then twice more before re-inking. I really don’t do much for journaling so this is a great stamp set to use to add a date to my layout. I had to dig for the Karen Foster sparkle burst brads. I knew I had a some left from a previous layout and knew they would be perfect, luckily I found them.

July 2012 CTMH Use Your Stash Blog Hop – Christmas

WELCOME! I’m so glad you are joining us for our “Use Your Stash Blog Hop”. If you have already started, you should be coming from Shirley Ross’ Blog. If this is your first stop, continue through until you make your way back here.

This month’s blog hop is Christmas themed. Yes, it is July and if I did my calculation correct that makes it 156 days until Christmas. It will be here before you know it! Now is the time to start thinking about those cards, gifts, and decorations and get a jump start! I hope this blog hop inspires you.

Supplies used are all Close to My Heart: Dimensional Elements Ornaments, Believe Paper Packet, sponge daubers, sanding kit, Christmas Scripts stamp set, Sparkles, Blue & Green Assortment Sparkles, Red-Pink-Purple Assortment Sparkles, Ribbon Rounds – Designer Holiday Collection, Ribbon Round Organdy – Spring Harmony, and Holiday Red, Topiary, Black and Sky ink.

These ornaments will make the perfect decoration on a Christmas gift. I have to admit that I really don’t care for the square rhinestones and this was my way of using a bunch of them up. And these showcase my obsession with sparkles. I used the Sanding Kit to sand the edges of may paper around the chipboard piece and I used the Finishing Files to poke the hole in the top and sand it smooth – This worked great! The sponge daubers work very well to apply the ink without making a mess. I really dug into my my stash for this project, using some ribbon that I have had for a very long time! I ended up really liking the bows so I made most of them that way. Below are some closeup pics but I apologize for the blurriness and funky shadows.
